The Analytical Equipment market is quite broad, and our products have been used in a wide variety of applications, including lab automation systems, DNA analysis, drug discovery, spectroscopy systems, rheometers, ultrasonic instruments, scanning electron microscopes (SEM and TEM), and general test equipment. For the lab automation market, we have developed products for “on deck” or “in deck” temperature control of samples. We have also provided our compact recirculating chillers to hundreds of universities and research labs around the world for general laboratory use.
Lasers & Optics
Working with some of the leading high-speed laser manufacturers in the world, we have demonstrated how use of our chillers can actually improve their product performance. In general, most lasers operate between 10% and 50% efficiency, leaving 90% to 50% heat to be removed. By using our precision, thermoelectric chillers, in addition to removing this heat, we improve wavelength stability, beam positioning, beam shape and pulse width stability of the lasers we are cooling. Our products offer an excellent solution for diode laser application, including scientific lasers, medical lasers and some lower power industrial lasers. In optics, one of our more common applications is liquid cooling of low-light CCD cameras, used in analytical and astronomy applications.
This is another broad market, where we serve many different applications, including diagnostic tools, equipment used to treat patients, and tools used for pharmaceutical and biotechnology development. We offer a compact and efficient cooling solution for lower end and portable medical imaging products. We have partnered with many different OEMs in the medical space to provide precise temperature control in applications, such as X-ray imaging, photoacoustic imaging, body cooling, fat reduction, skin treatments, ophthalmic surgery and patient recovery.
We have served the semiconductor industry since the company was founded in 1994. Our semiconductor products have been specifically developed to provide precision temperature control for critical process tools, such as plasma etchers, plasma ashers, chemical-mechanical polishers, wafer inspection tools and plating baths. Our ThermoRack and Nikola product lines offer a variety of communication interfaces for use with Lam, Applied Materials, TEL and Hitachi processing equipment. Our patented Cleanstream product was developed specifically for precise control of corrosive chemicals used in plating baths and other semiconductor applications.
Aerospace & Defense
Over the years, we have established strong relationships with most of the tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers in the Aerospace & Defense industry, where we supply both COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) and custom temperature control solutions. We have developed a special line of thermoelectric chillers, which have been optimized to use PAO (Polyalphaolefin) as a cooling fluid, since PAO is commonly used in the aerospace industry as a coolant. We have also developed versions of our recirculating chillers, which run on 28 VDC power making them ideal for on-board cooling in both aircraft and vehicles. We have a long history of developing custom solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers. This is particularly true in the Aerospace & Defense industry, where we have developed some very innovative solutions to address specific thermal challenges, even in harsh environments.
